This version of Edison (unzip in FL's folder, if you don't know how, better not try) features a new tempo detector. The major difference with the previous one is that it requires the song to have a constant tempo (most of today's songs do), is rather slow, and is normally more accurate & gives better results.
But to know this, we need testing.
So, please try it:
-load a song (better if you already know its tempo)
-format->edit properties->detection for songs with constant tempo/variable tempo
Then post your results
-(optionally the name of the song)
-the result of the constant tempo (CT) method
-the result of the variable tempo (VT) method
-the original tempo if you know it, or if you don't, which of the 2 results is the closest (to know, select a bar near the end of the song and see if it loops well)
Both should also make a 'downbeat' marker appear, I'd like to know how off it is from a real downbeat, and from a real beat.
The method that gives the best results will be then put (or kept) in FL later. (whle both will stay in Edison)
If you have non-rhythmic but still musical material (vocals, piano..), I'm also interested in results. None of the 2 methods is supposed to work, but we can still see which one works best.
If the 'constant tempo' detection failed miserably on a song, and you're the author of that song, please post it.
